The F-35B has it’s downward thrust points placed more outward compared to the Harrier which meant it was much more stable and able to resist the ground effect much more.

This is probably the only way we could make flying cars. Just make the engines small enough, not as expensive, and find a good very efficient source of fuel while making it safe. Pretty easy.
Harrier strike waiting for your mark
Yeah sure war is not a good time but the things humans invent for the sake of killing other humans turn out to have more applications than just killing humans and actually improe quality of life.
You have forgotten the other interesting prototypes: Do-31, VJ-101, VAK 191B, C450, Balzak V, X-14, SC-1 … I guess there is just so much time in these videos…
Ffs, can we just make the harrier supersonic!!!
Why not use the electron rockets… small enough and have batteries to control thrust.
Does this remind anyone else of San Andreas?
The gta 5 hydra is now real omg
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic

F-35 Copied from Yakovlev Yak-141 (decommissioned in 1991). SR71 engine copied from Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21.

I changed many AV8-A engines in the 70s and latter I became a Navy pilot. The exhaust nozzles are mechanically rotated by slightly larger motorcycle chain mechanism. Very simple. No computer at all..in those days.
Sonic
I just want Marvel's Quinjet to be a reality, a spacious airplane that can land and take off from anywhere, would be the perfect air caravan
I love engineering, it videos like this that gets me closer to my dreams and I'm only fourteen
Better to stop and land than to land and stop!
In the name of a few thousand jobs can someone justify spending billions of dollars.
Humans started with rocks and sticks and look where we are now. Amazing
