Understanding Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) !

Nowadays an anti lock braking system is used in almost all modern vehicles. This system prevents accidents like this, where you lose control of the steering as you apply the brakes. With ABS you will be able to steer the vehicle properly and it also reduces the braking distance. What is ABS? How is it able to prevent accidents due to the braking? We will explore these questions in this video.

  1. When abs activates the brake vibrates, you can feel it on your foot while you are pressing the brake and you can also hear a faint sound of your brake pad grinding agains the disk every few milliseconds something like tutututututu, that way you know if you are slipping when on wet road or gravel on the road

  2. ABS is really an accident-saver even on motorcycles. I had a 2003 Kawasaki ZR7S with no ABS, many times when I had to do emergency hard braking the back wheel locked up and I will do a donut fish-tailing at 50 MPH, if you did not have the experienced I had you would have crashed. Now that I have a modern bike, the Kawasaki ERN6 2017 I have ABS brakes. In the same hard braking the back wheel doesn't lock 'n slide or do donut fish-tailing. It's very safe, totally worth it!

  3. ABS brakes don't usually stop a vehicle quicker than cadence braking with a conventional system, but it does give the driver more steering ability. Modern drivers aren't taught cadence braking anymore, and in an emergency instinct is to swerve to avoid hitting something. ABS facilitates this reaction.

  4. Can I just say, this made my driving theory test so much easier, it helped me understand so many questions, and I don't know if I'd have passed without it, so thank you SO MUCH!

  5. Abs should be left off auto's unless someone absolutly orders them, after 10 yrs. most abs systems don't work properly, and you may never find it out untill you need it the most!
