Will this be the last video I make about SI units? Quite possibly. There’s something about being so precise and defining the systems within which science works. When we can more accurately and routinely measure a kilogram, a mole, a kelvin and an ampere, then we can make better observations, we can better detect anomalies and improve our theories. That is why this is so important to me.

  1. What if these so called "constants of nature" are an artefact of a failed model? Ptolemy's mathematics were genius for they did succeed at predicting the motion of the stars for a 1000 years even though it did not mirror the actual motions. Change came via an astute observation by Galileo observing moons transiting another planet, to reveal the truth of nature. Later came Brahe's accurate measurements coupled with Kepler's math. The fact that these "constants" do seem to fluctuate every time they are measured is indicative of something not understood and creating a circular reasoning of a constant may be convenient, but what is convenient is not always good for us. This is essentially science by popular opinion and all things popular, mathematically appeal to the lowest common denominator. Oh, there is one other thing. Prior to Galileo's observation was Copernicus and his skepticism in the present day popular opinion.
