Why is Gerard Pique getting involved with Barca's transfer business surrounding Neymar? | La Liga

Steve Nicol, Shaka Hislop, Paul Mariner and Stewart Robson react to Barcelona defender Gerard Pique saying players reportedly offered to cut wages in an attempt to land Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain. Nicol wonders why Pique is getting involved in transfers when “it’s hard enough to play for a team like Barcelona” while Hislop says players cutting salaries wouldn’t solve anything in regards to financial fair play.

  1. Everytime I see Mariner all I can think is "phoney". All his success for club and country came while he was Tractor Boy. But I guess East Anglia is not as cool as North London

  2. It's goes to show they really didn't agree with the team bosses…the players really wanted to have him back unlike the board…I think that's what it's all about ….. It's a subliminal message to say look here we don't agree with the board and their signings aren't what we wanted

  3. Barcelona is becoming s**t. Because they are always trying to replace players, Dembele, Coutinho is not neymar, Authur isn't iniesta. Good teams evolve they should get over the past and move forward as a team if not they will ultimately crumble.

  4. This is something that the Englishmen will never understand I guess, they only chase the highest payer, you have to realize these players are born and will retire at this club, they start at the youth and end in management, they are part of it.
I mean isn't it crazy, (and should receive more praise IMO) that Messi (same of course for busi, iniesta, xavi and others) has played professionally for only one club in his career. Not only the greatest ever but also a true loyal clubman!

  5. This is embarrassing to be honest. Barcelona is really suffering with internal matters. Being a Madrid fan I would want Pique to keep quite. It looks like Barca are running out of funds.
