“Kobe Bryant, who made the leap directly from high school to a glittering 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers that established him as one of basketball’s all-time greats, was among nine people killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday north of Los Angeles. Bryant was 41.

The crash also killed Gianna Bryant, 13, the second oldest of Kobe Bryant’s four daughters with his wife, Vanessa. They were traveling from the family’s base in Orange County, Calif., to Thousand Oaks, 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles. A budding star herself, Gianna was scheduled to play an afternoon game with her travel team, coached by her father, at Kobe Bryant’s Mamba Sports Academy.

News of Bryant’s death predictably rocked the N.B.A., which is filled with players who grew up watching Bryant as he won five championships with the Lakers and scored 81 points in a single game. Fueled by a seemingly endless reservoir of self-confidence, Bryant was a mammoth figure almost from the moment he arrived, at age 17, as the 13th overall pick in the 1996 N.B.A. draft.”*

  1. Wow the woman on the show is a dingbat, it's funny you can tell these people are young because they are processing death and what it means. Along with him being a basketball legend he was also a rapist with blood evidence and confession. He was great in many ways and flawed.

  2. American sports at the top levels are a celebration of American Freedom.
There would be no drive for excellence in a Democratic Socialist America.
Do you want every basketball player earning the same amount?
And all the NBA teams owned by the government?

  3. Strange… where's Alex Jones screaming at everyone about a Kobe conspiracy? I'm sorry, it's just usually when a hot story like this comes up, someone defames them with a controversy or something.

    Bless Kobe, miss him.

  4. i find it kind of odd their was no black box on the helicopter & also 9 people for a small helicopter idk something kind of fishy ? & why was the guy flying low & one more ? why didn't kobe just have them go in a big car vs the helicopter kind of over doing it just getting you to a ball game right not too so far away when you could of drove. what is the most odd thing is if you can't see anything you wouldn't be flying low you might hit something you would fly high to get over it right shit just don't add up.

  5. @ lord tricky you poor pathetic excuse for a human being spelling the "N" word out in multiple comments doesn't make you less of a racist pos… 9 people died and your using racial slurs instead to showing empathy for the families that lost 9 loved one's. Well i got time for you today bud.. Everytime I see you post that crap im reporting you and getting that trash deleted

  6. "We can admire aspects of a person’s talent without erasing the ways in which they also did irreparable damage. We can — we must — assess the ways in which the rich and famous are able to exploit our admiration of their talents to pound into the ground anyone who might threaten their fame and reputation, how they so often bypass accountability and we just let them because, well, they’re so talented, or so attractive, or their politics line up with ours, or they handle a ball so well." Good job TYT I thought you guys always on the right side, you've been critical of other people that have done wrong in the past and yet you worship like god a celebrity that was charged with rape and paid a settlement to silence his victim just because he's good in playing ball. Now do your reaearch what really happen to that 19 year old girl because his lawyer tried everything to shut up.

  7. I agree and disagree with TYT all the time… As this is a tragedy of gigantic proportion I agree with covering the story… I disagree with talking about Kobe like he's a hero. He paid a lot of money to a 19 year old girl. in Colorado to keep quiet about "something" that happened in a Colorado hotel room…. FACTS!!!Funny how TYT says it's wrong for someone else to do the same thing. Trump did the same thing and TYT right fully calls him out for it… TYT is just as hypocritical as any other news outlet… Unsubscribed

  8. I'm a TYT fan to the core and I am disgusted at the hypocrisy. How can you say he is a hero? How can you say that his sexual assault should not be the only thing in his life to defy his whole life? Is it only a horrible thing one a republican politician nominated for the supreme court gets accused of sexual assault? Kobe settled out of court for a damn reason, stop trying to minimize the fact that he Sexually assaulted a woman and had to apologize and pay money for it. It is NOT and different that Wainstein. How sad,I understand that Cenk allows his reporters to say what they want and that's awesome, but to allow them to support a sexual predator? I honestly would have never expected this from anyone at TYT.

  9. After this tragedy I’ve realized people have a hard time understanding mortality. Death can not be paid off like a corrupt politician, no one is protected from whatever life throws at you. I think that people especially in Western Society live as if death is optional or that 80 years is a guarantee. Kobe died because WE all die.

  10. This clip is embarrassing for TYT. You can't ridicule the mainstream media for their story selection then run a clip like this. BTW both Brett and Francesca are unbearable in this clip.
