  1. Leafs got murdered this game. It was embarrassing on everyone. Defense was too bunched up leaving people open, goaltending was very weak, lack of effort and enthusiasm overall during a desperate time that needed players to give it their all to make a playoff run.

Florida did great, considering that was their back up goaltender as well.

  2. Is 80s hockey back? So many games like this where both teams don't bother playing defense. Florida gave up 46 shots. Leafs goalies couldn't stop a beachball. Hopefully this was the slap in the face that gets them back on track… Congrats to Huberdeau. 420 pts and doing it vs the Buds is amazing LOL

  3. Even though Noel Acciari didn't have any points tonight, he had two really good screens that resulted in goals and a good defensive play resulting in the Trochek goal. Even when he's not scoring he's helping his team win

  4. The Leafs need to readjust their strategy, because other teams have clearly figured out how to expose the biggest weakness in Sheldon Keefe's current game plan.

The Leafs will hold on to the puck and maintain possession, even to the point of retreating back into their own zone in attempt to create a better breakout and offensive zone entry. With the offensive firepower of this Leafs team, this strategy was working very well for a number of weeks, but NHL players/coaches are strategic enough to catch on and expose odd systems, especially considering the amount of video tape they go through from opponent's previous games.

Teams have learned by now that the best way to beat the Leafs is to put pressure on their transition game, create turnovers in the neutral zone and spend half the game executing odd-man rushes and breakaways. When the Leafs cycle back, it's pretty easy to even catch them being sloppy in their own zone, outnumber them, steal the puck, negate any offside and pepper their goalie. Their defense is easily caught pinching or joining the rush early. It can be fun to watch, but it's sloppy and extremely fragile. And lately, the Leafs are missing the relentless puck pursuit that they had for the first handful of games with Sheldon Keefe as the coach. There is something wrong with this team. There is an element of disconnect from when Babcock was coach, and it's starting to creep up yet again, which is alarming to see as a Leafs fan.

  5. The Leafs were playing shinny hockey since I did not see any body-checking. At this time of the year when you're playing for a playoff spot, you got to play close-up and tight to your opponent preventing him from having an easy scoring chance.

  6. tough lesson for dubas this year, and expensive, when the leafs fail to make the playoffs while he keeps refusing to let go of nylander and kapanen for some much needed toughness and a right-handed shut down defensemen
