  1. I am so happy we live in the day and age we do. These people had no idea what was happening and had no real chance to fight this bacterium. At the time, there were only two ways to avoid this deadly illness. The first and most obvious was to get as far as possible from the infected areas. The other way was to surround yourself with fire. This appeared to work for many families as they kept candles, the fireplace, and torches surrounding them at all times. The heat apparently kept the fleas away and quite literally saved their lives.

I can't imagine what it must have been like during those times. You have no idea why this is happening and everyone around was dropping like flies. What truly worries me, we are due for another pandemic of mass proportions. Today, we have far too many doctors and people that rely on antibiotics for everything. If we're going to get hit with another catastrophic event it will likely be brought on by the weakening of our medicine to the point it will be useless.

  2. Based on the science that maked the black death so deadly from its bacteria called yersinia pestis. Yersinia pestis is a bacterial type when once enters the body this bacteria spreads within seconds and it rapidly mutating which is hard to control and within several days you are☠☠☠
