“Both Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and billionaire Tom Steyer were unable to identify Andrés Manuel López Obrador as the president of Mexico in an interview with Telemundo ahead of the Nevada caucuses, the first primary contest in a state with a significant number of Latino voters.

“What do you know about the Mexican president?” the interviewer, Guad Venegas, asks Klobuchar in the clip.

“What I will tell you is that I will visit Mexico in the first 100 days,” Klobuchar responds.”

  1. My fellow Americans who happens to be a Hispanic descent NOBODY is going to give you a slice of the American Pie you have to get up and take it. Like James Brown said 'I don't want nobody giving me nothing open the door I'll take it myself' the door is opportunity

  2. My fellow Americans, here is the funniest thing. I asked siri on my Iphone, the name of Mexican president. And it told me right away accurately. Those of you, who have Android, can try voice search on your phone, and it will give you the answer. What is baffling is, that as Senator Amy Klobuchar was being driven to Telemundo station for interview, why she would not even care, as much as, to ASK HER PHONE, a simple question about Mexican President’s name? Of course, we do not know, why she would not care. But this does prove that she does not. I mean, this is simply shocking. A United States senator, running for a president, hoping to get Latino votes, does not know the name of president of our biggest Latino trading partner country, whereas such knowledge is as simple to gain, as ASKING YOUR PHONE!!!!
And did you notice, how much, out of elements she was during interview. Interviewer asked, do you know anything about Mexican President?
Amy Klobuchar: I know he is President of Mexico.
( My God, give me a break. What kind of answer is that? A five year old can answer a question, by repeating words back to the questioner!!!!).
Then there was that Freudian slip, “ I will visit Mexico with in 100 years of being elected president”. That was corrected quickly to 100 days. But it was clear, that senator has no real interest in our neighbor to the south. Do not underestimate Freudian slips. They tell us mountains about, what does not interest a person.

  3. I disagree with that was ill suited to keep pressing on this issue. The interviewer did of course have a goal of putting these candidates front and center with Mexican Americans. It has been long that Obrador has been elect but long enough. Many still frequent back and forth to where politics of both governments effect their well being and families. I think if it would also be valued that they put them front and center with question about Puerto Rico's political and economic environment. See if they are versed on their own latin territory. In the end it translates to helping sure up who have the truest interest for this electorate.

  4. For everyone saying who cares, it was pertinent for where they were. . . They didn’t have to go on to TELEMUNDO!! They should have looked this shit up before going on TELEMUNDO!

  5. When referring to the Mexican President you address him as Pendejo, Cabron, Guey or even Semejante Imbecile …. they are all acceptable forms of addressing him.
