Siemens in hot water over Australian coal mining project | DW News

German industrial powerhouse Siemens says it will stay involved in the controversial Adani coal mine in Australia.
The project has faced massive environmental criticism as Australia is struggling to contain catastrophic bushfires that many link to climate change. But the head of the company says getting out of the 18-mMillion-euro contract to supply rail infrastructure would have been almost impossible.

  1. There is no global warming. The climate has been changing since the creation of earth. Human activity is so insignificant that has nothing to do with climate . The only source of oxygen for animals and human on earth is Co2. Simple plant physiology known as photosynthesis known to scientists for hundred years.

  2. I see this more pragmatic…The mine w ill be built with or without Siemens and i say take the money. The transition to renewable energy wont happen faster just because this mine isnt built by Siemens…The Germans at least know how to mine coal with as little environmental impact as possible….Who knows what company would set this up if they pull out…

  3. INDIA 14 january. Assam protests against CAA act. Many Poor people have not documents , so their is big trouble but media is not addressing this, SHAHEEN BAGH ALSO PROTESTS , LADIES R ALSO ON ROADS

  4. The simple truth is that the greens don't provide a viable alternative to coal it takes more energy to create the so called sustainable developments than they actually make! Economic suicide isn't a viable alternative to coal and fossil fuels and until it
Is modern economies won't be converted!

  5. The question is what else competitive business does Australia have? No high tech, no fabrication, tourism is also damaged by the fire. The economy will take a big hit if they stop the coal mining business.

  6. 60% of australia's energy is coal powered if this is changed to rapidly aussies won't be able to afford energy they need. Also why let the indians make all the money and control energy supply?
