What lies in store for Malta's Prime Minister Muscat? | DW News

Maltese prosecutors have charged Yorgen Fenech, who is one of Malta’s wealthiest people, as an accomplice to the murder of investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. Fenech pleaded ‘not guilty’ to his alleged involvement in Galizia’s death. Police arrested him ten days ago while he was trying to leave Malta on his luxury yacht. Daphne Caruana Galizia was investigating government corruption when she was killed in a car bomb attack two years ago. Protesters have demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat over the affair, suspecting that he and his former Chief of Staff, Keith Schembri, are involved in the murder.

  1. As a Maltese I can say that the prime minister Joseph muscat did nothing but make us a better country.of course he had his mistakes sometimes but trust me there are lots of people supporting him and not wanting to see him leave. Its truly heartbreaking to see him leave after all the things he has done for us.Don’t just hear one side!!

  2. The Prime Minister doesn't want to leave office because he still has to cover up more gruesome deeds committed by his best friend Keith Schembri and other government officials involved in this assassination. Let us not forget that before the middle man was caught 2 European journalists had already interviewed a Maltese man who saw a minister speaking with one of the killers. As a matter of fact we now have absolute certainty that this man was telling the truth and the Prime Minister and his wife are very worried so much so that they recently forgot to pick up their children from a private lesson class in the evening.

  4. so everyone has become a judge now adays, everybody twists the news as he wants, and you journalists base on what people are saying . They say thousands are protesting only a few thousands are protesting and many of them are no saints.

  5. Our country had been destroyed by pn along the 25 years that went by. Mater dei ,bwsc etc etc. Now that all you pn supporters are broke and have no money to pay your dues chaos is the only way to act .not even a leader capable to hold on to his wife you have . Oh by the way even the latter one is on the spare wheel.

  6. First of all get rid of the crooks in the prosecution service and the police and then the likes of Joseph Muscat and his henchmen will get what they deserve. The wonderful Maltese people deserve justice
