The Colosseum is located in Rome, Italy.
Also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre,it is an oval amphitheatre, and the largest ever built.
The arena hosted a variety of blood sports as entertainment. with ceremonies and shows that lasted for 100 days.
The schedule for the day consisted of men hunting dangerous animals and executions of criminals, but the main event would be the gladiatorial combat. Ancient writers wrote about mock sea battles or naumachiae before the Hypogeum was developed . It is speculated that hydraulic mechanisms were used to flood the arena rapidly for such naval battles.

Last gladiators games in the Colosseum were played in 404 AD. Sack of Rome in 410 (by Visigoths) was seen as Roman Gods' divine punishment for canceling games by some pagan Romans.
Hi
All roads lead to Rome, public baths, free clean running water, sewage systems etc etc. You knw stuff they still lack in many places in Africa to this day was there well over 2 thousand years ago
Do video about pirates
Gladiators did not fighte to the death. Kiling was against the rules.
Theres one in Pula, Croatia
You already know, my man Spartacus clapped some cheeks in the arena.
What explains the giant crack
How would you bring the ships inside though?
How did they manage to bring the ships inside though?
I wish they destroy the remains of that evil structure along with the vatican mafia.
Who will help me carry him…
The colosseum could hold only 70,000 spectators
Bertholdt: 50 meters eh?
Ill kick it down
I would like to see someone make more modern version of the Coliseum and host not lethal gladiatorial combat like wrestling but with weapons
Ah yes enslaved death
I was hoping for a jojo reference comment.
The colosseum itself is amazing, almost 2000 years and is still there. Its design, its style. Everything is incredible. As a kid it was my dream to visit it one day
But millions of inocents death there for stupid reasons. It's the place where countless lives were lost. So over the years i've changed my mind
I remember that time in colosseum when a turtle and a group of gangsters fought an italian stripper
Purple was the most expensive dye back in roman times
Me counting at least 5 people wearing purple capes at 1:14
