I love that guy that peeks around the corner at the very end
Let's blame the Maine on Spain!
2:52 vietkong guerilla in a house
The admiral in charge of the US Warships in the Gulf of Tonkin was Jim Morrison's father, lead singer of the Doors.
A Vietnamese report in my history book said that a few torpedo boats was dispatched to escort an American warship after it violated Vietnamese's water. They were fired upon after closing range, so the torpedo boats responded.
Guess they thought the warning shots were an act of aggression.
Whoa – Operation Farmgate sent in 1961 by Kennedy and the subsequent escalations were "minor"?
So the US entered the war simply because a faulty report from a ship that was attacked several days prior? Or is there more behind the scenes?
So to recap, the US was meddling in the affairs of another country (woah big surprise), sent it's warships into that country's waters, blew up 3 of their boats when those boats retaliated for the incursion, then went BACK into their waters and got spooked by a storm so we decided to start dropping napalm on them.
still waiting for a video about the seals and other SF in vietnam
This event never happened. It was just staged by the us government as an excuse to enter vietnam.
countries deciding what political government they want to be controlled by
They started a war and lost great work
Shoulda brought up the Tonkin Resolution
I want a video of allied war crimes during WW2.
"Described the attack on two U.S. Warships as a deliberate aggression". Yeah! Why you put your country so close to our Warships!?
It is terrible to think that there needs to be reason to attack communist state. Just its existence should be reason for invasion.
I really don't know what to say about that… other than fix your knowledge! xP
Do the fall of Saigon in 1975
Warsaw Uprising, 1944.
We complain about Trump. But serious all it took was 2 boats for a war.
the gulf of tonkin incident was staged by the US government, it's since been disproved by a recorded phonecall between the US president and someone else. i'm surprised Simple History didn't mention that. This isn't a silly theory like "9/11 was an inside job" it's actually proved to be a staged attack
