  1. Hey simple history me and my friend love your channel and when you upload we both rush as fast as we can to see it,ps I think teachers in school should show your videos

  2. A Vietnamese report in my history book said that a few torpedo boats was dispatched to escort an American warship after it violated Vietnamese's water. They were fired upon after closing range, so the torpedo boats responded.
    Guess they thought the warning shots were an act of aggression.

  3. So to recap, the US was meddling in the affairs of another country (woah big surprise), sent it's warships into that country's waters, blew up 3 of their boats when those boats retaliated for the incursion, then went BACK into their waters and got spooked by a storm so we decided to start dropping napalm on them.

  4. the gulf of tonkin incident was staged by the US government, it's since been disproved by a recorded phonecall between the US president and someone else. i'm surprised Simple History didn't mention that. This isn't a silly theory like "9/11 was an inside job" it's actually proved to be a staged attack
