Sir Philip Green’s retail empire Arcadia – which owns big name high street stores like Topshop, Burton and Dorothy Perkins – is on the brink of collapse, putting 13 thousand jobs at risk.
The business has more than 500 stores and has been run by Sir Philip Green, for almost 20 years. It’s understood administrators could be appointed within days.
Arcadia said the Coronavirus pandemic was having a “material impact on trading” across its businesses and its board was exploring all options.
Sophie Raworth presents BBC News at Ten reporting by business correspondent Emma Simpson.

If the Arcadia group fails, we can be sure Philip Green will continue to live the 'high life'. It simply does not add up to me.

I remember in the 80s Thatcher-Reagan era, individualism and capitalism became the mantra.
They evolved into anti-communist preppies to yuppies to evangelical ideologues in 40 years leaving a trail of tears, economic devastation, chronic crisis, in their wake.

So sad that people will loose their jobs but his net worth is still interact
Why do people think this isn't planned? This is exactly how rich business people make their money. The bankruptcy process is an industry for these people. They forfeit having to pay pensions, severance pay, taxes and debts and walk away with millions. Even Trump made his money this way.
He's got enough money in his own account to bail it out, in fact, he popped enough money into his wife's bank account for a bailout. I wonder if this will get him out of his pension liabilities? The man should lose his knighthood but don't hold your breath for that to happen.
He can claim universal credit if he needs to just jump on google n type in universal credit and complete the form
