Former prisoner Rosca Onya has spoken to Sky’s political editor Beth Rigby about how he was inspired by London Bridge attack victim Jack Merritt.
Mr Merritt, who was killed in the attack a year ago, was a course convenor for Learning Together, a project which brought Cambridge University students together with inmates to study criminology.
Rosca, who was helped by Jack in prison, said he changed his life and he has released a tribute single to honour him, with all proceeds going to charity.

PROOF COLOUR AND RACE DON'T MATTER HUMAN RACE NEEDS TO STAND UP TOO TYRANNY TMH BLESS ❤
Cultural enrichment, yes!
This video really hit me hard, Rosca speaks so honestly and compassionately. Jack left a good legacy through him. I bet he'd be proud to see how Rosca speaks of him.
S to spit.
Islam needs to be ousted from the UK
Never to late to change , he can carry his memory
Blm!
Hope this is genuine and not an attempt at selling a record
'Extraordinary life' lol there are thousands like him with exactly the same messed up lives and the MSM bigs them up, soon as his 'rap' career starts going downhill and the MSM stop promoting him he'll be back doing the same stuff he was doing. Its funny too isn't it, someone who commits crime gets more help in this country and attention than someone who just does the right thing and is struggling daily maybe for their whole lives.
Nice guy , nice spirit but I can't deal with the lack of musical depth in hiphop and rap ….i likemsome of the early 80s stuff but thats about it …. having come from avrock background where making records is very diffucult and writing songs a lot more complex and not so common, the idea of sampling a beat sitting on it and just rapping some rhyme and beong considered an artist still puzzles me.
And that’s why there cannot be any gods….
Bongland.
What a lovely tribute to Jack. Rosca is doing Jack’s name and legacy proud. Rosca gave me an insight into gang culture and the bigger issues that we need to tackle
What an interview. I don’t like Rigby but this interview just proves that we must never assume! Or generalise that, for instance, not all university grads are posh. A lot are but some keep their roots and know how to relate to non uni grads!
People want to know how many young people end up in gangs look right here, lost youth who crave to belong to a family because they never had it growing up, the family structure is key to tackle gang crime, everything good comes from a healthy and solid family structure.
Long overdue bit of proper journalism from Sky News. Respect.
Is every black man on the BBC an ex gang member or something . . .
Sadly, attacks like this will just keep happening, and the people in charge will never do anything about it.
Use his name. Not just Jack's! R.I.P. great story to share!
How did i know that the black guy was the one in a gang
Bloody sjw intersectional weiner !! Higher educated marxists… Prison for serving time, no coddling, bloody hotels our UK prisons. It's a frikkin disgrace.
And how they get to sponge off the tax payer.. put the lazy fekkers to work, pay for their incarceration !!
Why is it that all the good people get taken too soon?
Utter bullshxt, it was a psyop.
I can't believe the absurd amount of dislikes on a video this emotional..smh
Look at the thumbnail stereotyping that's all i will say work out the rest
After his conviction … errrrr why wasn’t he deported ?????
Once his sentence was completed, he should have been deported . OK
What is this DRIBBLE?? Interview clearly, scripted filled to the brim of stereotypes. PLUS the Timing. They release this after police violently attacking civilians in the protests of London. Sky News trying to cover agendas by creating distractions.
Britain will be SouthAfrica x Islamic terror pretty soon. What a man that Jack was…
Sky news for a change,
Tosca Onya is inspirational person on how people can change there lives if they get the right help from people like Jack
I’ve lived in NZ since I was 7yo, it hurts to see so many damn attacks on my people back home. Long live England.
