Mexico City’s (D.F.) metropolitan area–choked by pollution, riven by crime, and increasingly overpopulated—is home to more than 21 million people. With resources stretched to breaking, even access to drinkable water is becoming scarce. This is the grim reality faced by the city’s new mayor, Claudia Sheinbaum, a Nobel Prize winning scientist who has pledged to tackle it all head on.

I hope this works out for them .
To many 3rd world countries
Nobel Peace Prize winner in science as a politician/ mayor.. Wow!! I hope she becomes instrumental in bringing about a change in Mexico. Mexico needs someone like her.
WOW, presidential material
She will fail. Not necessarily because she's a woman, but because that country is run by cartels. The only way to fix the situation in Central America is to legalize weapons and make them widely available.
We need more women leaders, men are extremely self serving. They don’t make great leaders.
She will prove that she can deliver more.
Can you put her name in the headline?
México City is on the brink of destruction because of a large chain of abysmal left governments
Mexico City resident here. Yes, she is a scientist but her political group, including the president does not believes that masks help during the pandemic.
"As long as You think your able to do it, it brings you the strength to do it" – Said by a woman who grew up with high achieving academic parents. Yeah, neo liberal pep talk – exactly what the city needs
Nice than ever
7:02 "Her faith in science…" well this is awkward…. she's aligned with a president that denies science and doesn't seem to plan to break this unconditional support even when the president denies the effectivity of both clean energy and masks during a pandemic that already made her and 150k citizens of CDMX ill.
She has a huge task, there are a lot of areas in the city where if you go in, you will certainly get robed or murdered.
Spoiler alert: everyone hates her and she’s doing an awful job. Her party is the most communist party mexico has ever had (and totally against renewable energies and the use of face masks, plus her boss has ties with El Chapo and his family) and she never won the Nobel peace prize wtf???
A scientist who "question everything", but no questions whatsoever for her boss, the most idiotic president in Mexico's history. Hypocrite
She has been mayor for two years, she has been going against climate policies. She has been making infrastructure for the use of private cars since her first cabinet position. She is the biggest deception for all of us who live in this city and want a cleaner future
A scientist politician? That’s rare…but…wait a minute…she’s a climate change scientist…now it makes sense…
Jajajaj this administration is full of corruption by the way she denies the use of a mask she is just populist like Trump and obrador
She’s just gonna get murdered
Ugh, this video is just neoliberal propaganda.
This woman calls herself a scientist and leftist but her actions and policies are classist and borderline fascist. She only acts in service of the elite and criminalizes poor people, feminists, activists and drug addicts. What a soulless clown.
The left in Mexico is a sick joke, it’s a mask they put on to continue the neoliberal agenda of dispossession.
i wish her that she transforms her city into of best of her visions. i wish that she educates everyone about the nature & how the young people can easily help in transforming the city
I feel like there was very little content in those seven minutes. I heard some great lofty aspirations but did not get any sense of how that would be achieved
Video begins @3:30
I hope she makes the city and country great again and can stop all the corruption.
🙂
I feel hopeful, she seems great! this is what we need.
Make Mexico City Great Again!
She made a law on which you have to test for emissions on electric cars
She is incompetent…
la primera vez que la escucho hablar ingles
I hope she can make a difference and that they give her a chance
This is the biggest issue in the US. The government has become a body supporting itself. The people get whatever is left over. The government has become so invested in the financial markets that the only way they actually work is when the stock market falls because they are so invested in it. March 2020 proved this.
Only Turkey can kill entire nation and say it was a war. Every lie has an end and this is the end of Turkey's lies and blackmail.
Best of luck with those fantastic plans.
Every city in the world should take note.
I mean all these promises are great, but as per usual words and action are worlds apart and from first hand accounts of family members and friends living in mexico city these ambitious changes are far from even beginning. I mean as a scientist she should know building a new highway that crosses through an already endangered area such as the texcoco River is not the best way to take care of the environment and the people in the area.
womn make the best leaders
She's a leftist nightmare
If she is on the opposite side of you political views give her a chance to turn around your city. Perfect doesn't exist but putting process in place for a better standard of living can help many more.
