Now it's available for the elite to purchase at a discounted price, since people are leaving Commiefornia, in Droves!
So sad
Turn it into a needle exchange, will fit better into the community…
Now San Francisco will have more space to house the homeless.
I hope they at least keep the building
The lockdowns destroying businesses
San Francisco is such a mess these days. It's so so sad. I grew up in SF and this makes me both sad and angry.
They'll file bankruptcy and reopen, like most businesses.
Oh my, it doesn’t look recognisable anymore without the sign
Oh that's sad. I always made a point to stop at the Cliff House when I visited San Francisco. It was a great end to a day of hiking from the Golden Gate Bridge to Land's end.
There will probably be a new restaurant there eventually
Huge lost to Sf
A wonderful lady has sent Rosie the Riveter post cards with letters to the San Francisco Chronicle, Cal-Mart, Appel & Dietrich Market and Standard 5 & 10 Ace. That way, she can get readers and customers to chip in whatever they can to save The Cliff House.
I'm going to buy the building and call it the Pelican Playhouse, as a colony of brown pelicans inhabit that crag of rocks called Seal Rocks right out the front window. It will be a swanky nightclub. Ladies Night is Thursday
They are going to replace it with “Blue Tarpaulin” . A very prominent cost saving hotel chain booming in the area.
The death of our nation.
This is so sad to see…Cliff House survived the 1906 Earthquake, the 1989 earthquake, rebuilt after many fires. Survived 2 world wars, recessions, the 1960's(lol)) but the Corona took it out. Hard to believe.
It was the meeting place, First Communion Breakfast place. Monti Cristo Sandwich place. Mechanical Museum, Seal Rock, you knew you were the end of SF place, weekend party place, our piece of the Pacific Ocean…Such a huge part of my childhood. Everything in this area is now closed. No on can survive the lack of business. I have a pic in my living room of the Cliff House from the Victorian days, with a huge lighting strike behind it..my fav SF pic. I was there the day Sutro Baths burned, I was very young but I remember. So incredibly sad to see small and iconic businesses all over closing. Nothing will ever be the same. The SF I remember has all but disappeared, it's a shell of itself, surrounded by such beauty, but very sad inside.
