Shooting from the trenches meant that a soldier had to stand up over the parapet, exposing his head in order to aim at the enemy, posing a perfect target for enemy snipers.

Therefore, soldiers needed to find a way to shoot the enemy without the risk of being exposed and shot…

  1. Yo about the sponsor, want another game by the same people? Well there is 3 games by Bytro called Call of War, Conflict of Nations and then surpremacy or something. Anyways one of them is about WW1, one of them is about WW2 and then one is a made up WW3, it’s the same exact concept except they were made at different times.

  2. One thing I've always liked about Simple History over other animated history shows is the attention to equipment and uniforms. Although not as well drawn as some other history series I could name, the men are always equipped with equipment that falls under their TO&E lists and stays true to the period. You can tell who the Australian is, and who the Ottoman/Turkish soldier is despite having no flags displayed. The turks are even drawn with a mustache that was popular amongst the army during that time. This always gets a thumbs up from a History fan like me and always makes me recommend Simple History over the other animated history shows.

  3. The drip rifle , the periscope rifle , the fighting patrol and saving the war at by inflicting the "black day of the German army" with Canadian help the Australian army was the elite fighting arm of the allied armies in ww1

  4. Soldier 1: "My mirror was shot! I need another mirror fast! You, give me your mirror!
Soldier 2: "Does it look like I own a mirror?
Soldier 1: "What do you mean?"
    Soldier 2: "Hold my beard."

  5. Fun fact there was something similar they used to trick the turks that the Anzacs and Brits have left Gallipoli but that had the same design as the Australian periscope rifle just with can and water dripping into it over time and in return would pull the trigger on the rifle and would reset when fired.
