  1. The Japanese had a similar thing like this. Some fighter pilots painted cherry blossoms on their wings as a menace that they will fight and die bravely like the petals of a Cherry blossoms.

  3. Not as well known as the P-40 “Shark Mouth” art, but in 1944 F6F Hellcats of VF-27 aboard the carrier USS Princeton CVL-23 had “Cat Mouths” painted on the nose. The art is similar to the shark mouths and they look badass. Look them up!
