25 Painful Bites and Stings You Might Not Be Able To Handle

There are many creatures in the animal kingdom that are venomous, but not all venom is created equal. Some stings and bites may feel like simple irritants, inconsequential, you would barely even feel them. On the other hand, there are bites and stings that can induce mind numbing and potentially incapacitating pain that is so painful, most people lack an adequate way of describing the experience. The good news is, for the most part, the bites on this list are not normally fatal (even though though the pain may feel like it’s fatal). Nevertheless, some of these creatures can attack in masses and as such potentially kill their victim. If you are out and about and you come into contact with one of these creatures, your best bet is to leave them alone. Seriously! Run! Flee! Stay as far as you can, because these stings are what your worst nightmares are made of. Just to give you an idea, some of these bites and stings have been described as bullet wounds, hot screwdrivers being drilled into a person’s leg, and a host of other similar disturbing sensations. So familiarize yourself with these critters (and avoid them)!

  1. An expert on insect bite pain who visited Australia a year back, being interviewed on national television, reported the Jumping Jack ant of southern regions was far more painful than the Bullet ant. His masochism had him endure the bite of what he studied. I saw the urgency with which my cousins destroyed a nest and how they rushed to protect me. I was stung by a local type of paper wasp some twenty years back, while I cleaned carpet in a house. The wrong move for the wasp. My second job was as a pest controller. The nest lasted another three minutes. Sweet. Australia has an immense verity of insects, including a version of the Black Widow. The Red-back hides where pray are many. Open "long drop" toilets were common as were Red-back bites. Australians were early adopters of flushing toilets.

  2. There's a little, teeny, pale green spider in texas that should be on this list. It's really tiny, you almost cant see it without a magnifying glass. And when it bit me, my hand swelled up and I had to keep it in ice water for three days. There's also a small caterpillar in Lousiana that can sting even when dead. And I stepped on it – barefoot. Foot in icewater for almost 24 hours till the pain went down. Fire ants aren't nearly as painful as everyone wants you to believe (been stung by quite a few) but they do something you might not be aware of – when bitten by a fire ant, you CAN get a yeast infection from them – and it doesn't go away easily (personal, annoying experience… foot covered with bites and took months to get rid of the infection)

  3. Here's Mike on the list of the top 25 painful stings and bites people won't like to handle. A brazilian wandering spider is extremely poisonous to humans and there the deadliest hairy spiders with their venom and toxic that causes bleeding and nervous system after getting bit by it and it also causes symptoms and extreme pain and heartbeat. A man's hand pretends biting neck of him.

  4. What? I got stung by a honey bee a little bit ago and no it didn't hurt, I'm 10 and what about the executioner wasp, its not on the sting pain index but its way worst than a bullet ant

  5. Dart frogs don't bite Mike…. It's not venom either it is poison accumulated from insects they eat. Between your multiple mistakes per episode, repeated butchering of pronunciations and a parent bias in some videos I'm almost unsubbing…. Do better

  6. Bites and stings are not the same, wasps and bees sting, ants bite and frogs skin is toxic. Poison is either absorbed or ingested where as venom is injected via stinger or bite…. Tarantula wasp stings not bite

  7. Assassin Bugs (also called Red-Footed Cannibal Bug and Wheel bugs among other things)- They are basically flies: related to Dragon and Damsel Flies.
They hurt WORSE than fire ants ( know, I was bitten by around 40 or so, when I was 6, along with my mom).
It felt like my finger had been removed from my hand.
The bite swelled to make my finger almost 4x's the size it was supposed to be.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL FOLKS! It also caused my to have NASTY central nervous system issues for more than a full month after the bite. I couldn't walk straight. Couldn't breath well. Couldn't see straight without hallucinations (I saw a red convertible sprout wings and fly off the road and into the sky).
I also had nightmares for the same amount of time and when we called a collage etymology department to ask if this would cause lasting effects, the guy said I was lucky: he's known the pain to be so bad that people were killed trying to move after a bite (falling off cliffs, into water and so on).
He also knew people who had been bitten once, and when they saw the bug again AFTER the first bite, some have been known to run into traffic and dying, mindlessly frightened of being bitten again.

  8. I am a fervent animal rights supporter and vegan but I wouldn't miss this lot if they disappeared, apart from the honeybee who is beneficial to the environment.

  9. Allow me to make some minor corrections. First, venom and poison are different. One it injected, the other is ingested. Second, frogs can't bit as they have no teeth; therefore, it's the skin mucus on the Golden Dart Frog that contains its deadly compound. Third, the candeeru catfish neither bits or stings. It has sharp barbs running along its fins that slice into its host as it feeds on blood. It's also attracted to ammonia which is found in urine.
