Great first hand account from the Senegalese Tirailleurs themselves:
Colonial Soldiers in Europe, 1914-1945: “Aliens in Uniform” in Wartime Societies
edited by Eric Storm, Ali Al Tuma
source
"Your country needs you!" the posters ring out…but read the fine print…just until the last shot is fired…after which Generals get more medals and maimed and broken soldiers hobble back to a country that suddenly doesn't need them… doesn't want them… absolute betrayal. It happens the world over.
Your videos are great but adding subtitles would help more. I couldn’t understand any of those foreign names.
Dishonor and Disgraceful. Soldier fight side by side of the same enemy and only to abandoned them because of racial differences.
Whoever make that policy is indeed "DISHONORABLE AND DISGRACEFUL PERSON."
De Gaulle also dragged the US into Vietnam.
it will be great of you take black colour to represent the tirailleurs please because they were blacks ; and they werent not just senegalese ; french west indies ; from cameroon ; mali morocco ; mauritania mauricius ; guinea ; congo ; djibouti all the french colony ; senegalese name is because french foks doesnt care about your country if you are black ;you are dark like a senegalese!!! So we black people liberate france against nazism ; but also against germany during the first world war ; for Indochina Vietnam too ; algeria ; many colonialists french war ;for napoleonian wars in egypt and against russia
I see that allies were only the tip of an iceberg which was betrayed by France.
I wish there was a Campaign like that in battlefield 5
Lol Ricardo Milos xD, wt he was doing in WW2?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=–2VQscVAeQ. Please watch this story. France betrayal of the African world war 2 heroes is deeply explained here.
Most of the Tireliers of Africa and Senegal were Muslim…They protected the French lands being 100 percent loyal..Sacrificing theie lives for those who exploited and enslaved them for lotso years..But after all o these they were so mistreated that ur tears will instantly come out after hearing their sad stoeies..Now..In the modern days u say kickout the Muslims..But guv when ur grandas were struggling so hard,,,almost pinned out..They came for yar aid…Fighting side by side..Ask the Brits or the French vets..
Yep, sounds like the French to me.
Who else is watching this after the battlefield V tiralleurs war story
Senegals : will u treat us equal
French soldiers : well yes but actually no
The dark spot remained in the history of France.
are these the same Senegalese who are cannibals?
Who is here because battlefield 5
Anyone thinking about bfv
Make one on the indian soldiers, they were also heavily forgotten
As a South African of Asian Indian decent. I applaud the French people and the military till this day for treating soldiers of colour with respect and honor, of course with some exceptions.
I don’t like De Gaulle anymore
Battlefield V brought me here
At least french has Vietnamese colonies
Did they use chauchat gun
Why did they join the war?
5:04 is a scene in bfV
Merci au tirailleurs
My country used to be a colony of France. During world war 1, 45000 malagasy joined the army and 10000 were part of the 12th malagasy battalion. They carried important missions in Africa and even got rewarded by the french army. Despite that, the malagasy soldiers were still mistreated when they came back. Leading them to join an uprising in 1947 causing the death of 90000 malagasy. My mom told me that my grand father lost his uncle and his father during that uprising.
terrible
What this reminds me of: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqJwD35wWhY
And this is why nobody really likes France
What's the music used?
And here I thought Paths of Glory was a exaggerated portrayal of French military leadership. Turns out it might as well have been a fucking documentary.
The US treated the these soldiers better than French. Give respect to them.
Wow, a really nice way to treat them. Jk
now thats how you rape a nation. Damn
