Who Is Challenging the US Dollar’s Dominance?

The US dollar’s dominating role in international trade gives America enormous leverage in tracking and sanctioning actors it deems dangerous. But now, several countries, with the most prominent being China, are starting to challenge the dollar’s default status. From settling trade accounts to lending money in alternate currencies, some countries are trying to chip away at the dollar. Will other countries follow?

  1. AMERICA PRINT WITHOUT MUCH RESOURCES NO ONE QUESTION FAKE DOLLERS OF PAPERS FOOL THE WHOLE WORLD THE WORLD SHOULD TRADE COMMODITIES EXCHANGED INSTEATED OF TRADING IN DOLLER.

  2. It’s that they’re actively jockeying to replace the dollar they seem to be constrained by their spending power do to erratic growth in the dollars spread . It’s good for the United States those countries just need to be on time commissioning prophecy’s and works or they will become piggie uae just saving all the gold for a 0 . They will never seee the light of day shiz

  3. The reader says that the US economy contributed 40% to the global GDP in 1960 but the screen shows 60% of the circle occupied by the US flag.

    Which is correct?

  4. Saddam and Ghaddafi tried to sell their oil outside the USD and they were both eliminated and their countries totally ruined.

It is time the USD is given its final push out of circulation.

  5. Expectation 2025 onwards Dollar Dominance will fall – however new phase eventually will adopt but with no dominance like dollar wait and see the game change – this is my verdict ion more than 24 yrs Banking experience Intl. Banking – if this happened America States may brink for which American has to answer themselves

  6. America failed to deliver what its masters were expecting from it to deliver.
However, America still has the ability to tackle this problem. It tackled the "communism" but for that it needs a strong and sincere ally, which happens to be standing with China…

  7. i am looking forward to this day where the USD is no longer the dominant currency in the world then there will be no more wars and a lot less suffering by the people in the world.

  8. Lol. Why don’t ask yourself whether Turkey will follow China’s lead? What is Turkey’s long term goal? Is it to be pro China or anti China?

  9. United States produces dollars and trade that for goods from the world—essentially getting the goods from the world for free, without having to produce goods to exchange for the goods of others. This is the greatest con-job in the world.
However, this cannot last forever. Once the world ditch the dollars, USA got nothing to trade to buy those goods they need. Then US could become like the third world countries they now bully.
The death of the US dollar would be the end of the US. It would be terrible for US as a nation, but good for the world because there will be no more bombing and regime changes to suit the whims of the White House politicians. The current wealth of US is not real wealth in terms of productivity and goods produced but mere illusion of wealth from printed dollars.

  10. China only REVERSE ENGINEER what the USA made. Like they did to the warplanes warship and other technologies by the USA. So, China is not SMART nation!!!1

  11. No doubt it is, the world economy cannot be subjected to a reserve currency that is manipulated to justify it's position within the IMF, and that with the World bodies protection. It does not reflect the economic woes within America and thus puts pressure on Developing economies and unfairly on their currencies.

  12. For the betterment of world, all countries should ditch that dammed petrol dollars ,the swift system and dump those useless treasury bonds. All countries should be able to protect their currency and nationalise their resources.
