I've always wanted to make something clear about WrestleMania 3: well clearly yes we all know that Andre the Giant was limited due to his health… and the in ring action was obviously out done by the amazing Savage and Steamboat match that is one of the greatest in all of history… that being said I think the Andre the Giant vs Hulk Hogan match was perfect. As a kid by no means did it appear that Andre the Giant was limited in his movement it appeared as though he was so God damn big and strong that he was killing my hero with every shot… and while today you can retrospectively look back at the bear hug that lasted 5 minutes and you can say it was a waste of time or whatever…
But again not to me as a child I believed that the giant was literally squeezing the life out of my wrestling Idol right before my eyes. I found the match incredibly exciting I thought both men did a great job of conveying the messages. Even when I watch it today I still love the match… after being crushed by the biggest strongest man on Earth he still Hawks out and manages to Bodyslam the immovable object…
Haters are always going to hate on the Great.
But honestly I feel sorry for you if you just can't appreciate what that meant to wrestling… and it's probably a big part of the reason your favorite wrestler ended up with such a great career even Generations later
