The world is a lot different than it used to be. That goes without saying. These days it seems like everything just moves so fast. The 90’s almost seems like a different century. Wait a minute…yes, it seems fitting for a list such as this. They really were a different century. So much has changed since then. The clothes you wore to high school? No longer cool. The things you collected? No longer cool. The music you listened to? No longer cool. It’s all different now! So if you want to catch up, we’re here for you. That’s what we get paid for – imparting extremely trivial knowledge on to our readers, viewers, and listeners.
Today is going to a marvelous trip back through history. All those things that are no longer cool, no longer true, or just no longer exist…that’s what we’re going to be looking at. There may be some nostalgia, but there may also be some relief. Seriously, who ever thought that Beanie Babies were a good idea? Those stuffed little critters turned every other mom into a rabid stuffed critter collector. Okay, over exaggeration, but jokes aside, these are 25 Things People Actually Believed In The 90’s.

  1. I used to live in a town called Wokingham and we had a blockbuster. Ever since Woolworths closed it was the only place we could buy video games or movies (not brand new or in the charts) and when that closed… Us kids were screwed.

  2. ok for number 4 will depend on a few stipulations like what kind of degree to what kind of job as well as the connections you make and what company you work at…. so nice try to say that point for was an incorrect belief….

  3. At the end of #14(No homo). Also for #4 if you get a degree in women's studies or liberal arts, good luck with that nimrods.

  4. I remember when Pluto lost its status as a planet. It was in 2006. I was reading alot of science magazines at the time. The reasons were numerous and although I was taught it was a planet in the 90s I agree that it should be a dwarf planet at best. Basically astronomers did not have definitive criteria for planets until 2006 and they discovered a similar pluto-like object 'near-by' at the time.

  5. I was a bit irritated that the '90s ended without my permission-car smash-TBI-very partial amnesia. I was 19 going in. There are many periods, "Everything's great" set the cruise control. I'm still sore Blockbuster wiped out the neighborhood video stores. Killer bees are a '70s thing, with razor blades in Halloween apples. I was taught typing on c1953 machines "You have to type all your papers in College"

  6. People also thought The due back time for a Blockbuster Video was noon. It was actually 2:00pm. Blockbuster set it up that way giving people a couple of hours leeway. I worked at blockbuster for 2 years. So I know this was policy. So if you turned in videos before noon and got late fees you were, in reality, a day late.
