I spent 6 years on the Leo 1. What a blast. I remember being taught this drill but never used it. It is said that you could fire 1 round under water. I always wanted to try it but never happened. Now there are 50 Leopard 1s in CFB Cold Lake Canada and are being used for fighter target practice.
Remember the US and British tried similar during D-day. They launch tanks from ships to help storm the beach with armour suppory
