G7 countries reach deal on global corporate tax | DW News

G7 finance ministers meeting in London say they’ve reached a deal on global tax reform. The agreement is designed to close the loopholes used by some of the world’s biggest companies to avoid paying taxes. Germany says it’s quote ‘good news for justice and fiscal solidarity’. It would set corporate tax at a minimum of 15 percent, no matter where companies are based.

  1. Needs to go a lot further with all transactions taxed at source & no companies able to take one cent/penny out of the country until all the tax from that transaction has been paid in full. Big businesses have been been ripping of taxpayers for far too long, let's put an end to it now.

  2. It's funny only wearing masks when greeting Japenise for G7 meeting due to poor job with COVID (China Originated Virus Increased Death) prevention. New technology like renewable power, battery, IT, chips, ship building, construction, rails, electronic and media contents are lead by SK over Japenise. Japenise are still stuck using stamps and fax machines. LOL. Toyota is about 5 years away from tanking due to not investing in renewable energy power cars and they will fail just like ship building sector to S Korea. Hopefully SK president mention about stop Japenise from dumping Fukushima radioactive water into Pacific Ocean.

  3. This is horrible name for what it does. Ignorant people see "Global Tax" and immediated thinks they have to pay more taxes to the "world".
Google moved $44 billion to Bermuda in 2017. They pay all their taxes to Singapore on revenues generated in Asia. This is to close the loophole on taxes these companies "EVADE". Not to levy more taxes.

  4. It’s a 10% world. 780 million or so control 80% of the wealth of the globe.

Anyone earning 50k + USD, is in this category. This tax won’t do much.

Neo-liberal market capitalists no doubt will decry this is as an abomination.
