Pegasus: the spyware technology that threatens democracy

Pegasus spyware is capable of bypassing your phone’s security and gaining complete access to your device – including emails, messages, GPS location, photos, video, and your phone’s microphone. A Guardian investigation can now reveal widespread abuse of the Pegasus technology by government clients around the world who purchased the spyware from its Israeli manufacturer — the NSO Group. People who were selected as possible targets include journalists, lawyers and human rights defenders.

  1. People need to be more aware about their rights. Our rights can't be increasingly taken away in the name of security. Last but not the least 'Never Underestimate The Power Of The Common Man".

  2. "Life-saving mission". That's the catch phrase they all use when they're trying to control you. Protect your phones. Protect your bodies, people 😉

  3. What is Pegasus? A cybersecurity expert explains how the spyware invades phones and what it does when it gets in

    Bhanukiran Gurijala – August 9, 2021

"Pegasus is breathtaking in its stealth and its seeming ability to take complete control of someone’s phone, but it’s not the only way people can be spied on through their phones."

  4. "Pegasus spyware used to surveil journalists in Hungary and Togo, and when covering the environment means risking your life"

    24 September 2021

  5. Israeli technology is just a sponsored grant from the NSA America controls Israel technology but what America can’t do on American soil it does in Israel same as rendition

  6. Unpopular opinion:
Terrorists will try to nuke us one day; hopefully spyware will be a double edged sword that prevents a huge terror attack.
I'm pretty sure all phone companies have been consulted and are in agreement that they should make phones hackable for the sake of anti terrorism and accountability.
I don't like this at all but I also don't like terrorists having a way to easily communicate and coordinate attacks on the innocent.

  7. They should make phones more manual. Make it possible to remove the battery, analog on/off switches of the camera and microphone and so on. And they should implement crypto end-to-end based communication on everything. And there should be a very high penalty on breaking the rules.

  8. You left out an important aspect, the fact that it can get access your phone by calling it and without you even picking up the call.. yea it sounds too sci-fi but its how they operate by selling it to goverments all over the world… they will soon have more knowledge of each country than the countries themselves.

  9. Sounds to me that the governments using this to spyware on their citizens are just trying to catch up with what the U.S have been doing to it's citizens for years, if not decades!

  10. Hope they didn't sell it to Myanmar army regime, which would literally up side down the ongoing democratic revolution (which btw the West has always been ignored about, all the time)

  11. Wow terrorists fight terrorists , the biggest terrorist is the one accessing private lives around the world in order to controle people and there only one terrorist organization who's specialized in that is "Israel"

  12. That is the reason I still use conventional phones (flip phones or non smart phone, no internet support phones) in year 2021. I can't compromise on my privacy for any cost.
