Inside America's last whites-only church

In rural Minnesota, a fringe Heathen group known as the Asatru Folk Assembly has purchased a local church – and membership is strictly whites-only. They worship Nordic, pre-Christian gods and they call themselves a ‘folk religion’ that only accepts those with northern European ancestry. Their racially exclusive ideology is protected by the first amendment. Amudalat Ajasa visits the church to understand how it is gaining influence across the country and to meet the anti-racist Heathens fighting back to reclaim their religion

  1. Why are people such whiny babies?! I'm white but wouldn't be allowed in that church because I'm Italian. Who cares I go somewhere else. Since when is it a crime to hurt people feelings. You libbies need to toughen your people up immediately

  2. I mean, you could be exclusionary without being deemed as racist, I honestly have no idea why they're so up front about it. And even if that place of worship (the video is kinda misleading by calling it a Church) is open to non-white people, no one will really be a member except other white people. Especially after a person see's one of their rituals.

  3. Racism is an evil spirit… we still have churches in South Africa predominantly white, mostly Afrikaans churches. They don't deliberately stop people of colour coming in, but people of colour choose not to go in, they feel unwelcomed, as non-inclusion candidates.

  4. It's deliciously, awfully, terribly hilarious that a white separatist congregation is calling non-European people "not Heathen enough" to join their pretend-church.

  5. Race is a sign inside the trans-Atlantic lexicon. It has no wider application. If people want to make as if they can enjoy a universality with this lexicon, they are merely wading about in a frog pond and engendering ever further conflict.

  6. "Do I look like a white supremacist?"
"I don't know what a white supremacist looks like."
    "Exactly!"

But they are not calling you a white supremacist because of what you look like.
