Buell is back! The US firm has been revived once more promising a fresh line-up of all-American motorcycles to rival Harley-Davidson. Leading the new charge is the reborn Buell Hammerhead 1190 RX… does it have the credentials to take the fight to its European and Japanese sportsbike rivals?.
America is producing its own sportsbike again as Buell announces 1 November 2021 as the date for its official relaunch with the Buell Hammerhead 1190.
Buell Motorcycle Co. has confirmed it will be restarting its production line on 1 November 2021 following the latest relaunch of the American icon, with the reworked Buell Hammerhead 1190 sportsbike to lead its comeback charge.

The American marque stood alongside Harley-Davidson as one of the United States’ most prominent global motorcycling brands during the 1980s and 1990s. However, after it was purchased by H-D in 2003, the decision was taken in 2009 to stop producing Buell-badged models.

  1. The problem isn't building a pretty good bike . Like Indian, Norton, etc which have been resurrected over and over it is building the trust of customers and dealers to buy and standing behind their bikes. Both the last iteration of EBR and Norton drove more than a few dealers out of business in the U.S. and stuck more than a few riders with uncorrected warranty issues.

  2. I loved when Buell came out with the Firebolt XB9R and the XB12R. Then, the 1125 came out. Loved that as well. Never owned them. But, I was intrigued by all the tech that Buell was putting into the bikes that other brands hadn't. When EBR appeared after the fallout with HD, I was excited again. But, over time, EBR slowly started to fade away. I hope breathing life into the 1190RX again will see more longevity then before. I'd really like a chance to own one. I liked the idea of the KTM RC8. Maybe this new venture will succeed.
