A Liverpool taxi driver’s “heroic efforts” averted what could have been an “awful disaster” on Remembrance Sunday, the city’s mayor has said.
His cab pulled up outside Liverpool Women’s Hospital and exploded just before the national two minutes’ silence at 11:00am GMT in what has been declared a terrorist incident.
Mayor Joanne Anderson praised the cabbie, named locally as David Perry, for “locking the doors” before the blast.
The taxi passenger died at the scene and Mr Perry was taken to hospital.
Three men have been arrested under the Terrorism Act, while MI5 is assisting regional counter-terrorism police.

If this bloke had been deported when he was first refused to stay this wouldn't have happened. He's been here since 2015 and wasn't kicked out despite several attempts to stay. Our government are usless.
i was born on a dublin street
It is disgrace, cruelty at it's peak. The taxi driver should be prosecuted. Asylum seeker with mental illness causing injury to his body and taxi driver locked him up in the car burnt vulnerable asylum seeker alive. Why there is no fire extinguisher in the hospital, why others didn't try to put of fire inside the car? There should be investigation into this matter to find out who is to blamed for this murder incident. I believe this asylum seeker was seeking for help he wanted to injury himself in order to seek medical attention. That is the only way to seek medical attention in UK.
I am sorry , I did not catch what was the driver's heroism ? He drove of the road with a bomb on board?
BBC EMPLOYEES………..the Lord God will be your final judge…….choose your side now!
shame the police do not work out where all the pedos are but they know where all the people who are terrorists. could the motive be to push the narrative the government wants? more control.
See what happens when yae spent 8 months under a Christian couples house. They'll drive yae up the wall with jesus and make yae blow up a hospital full a babies
officers without masks are a surprise. Also, some of the housing estates are no strangers to a car fire. this however seems a bit strange, taxis have been encouraged to use gas/ plus alternative fuel.
An attack on biggest "maternity hospital in UK , that could have been castrophic, The taxi driver should be hailed as a national Hero ,by the people,as press & mp,s have no real interest
Well dune god bless you
BBC doesn't want to reveal names of innocent terrorists since they belong to peaceful community who blast themselves all over the world in the name of GOD.
The religion of peace strikes again.
My guy tried to do some spawn killing
Terrorist fails at his attack only killing himself making the world a better place
GET THEM BOYS!!!
Do you really think police tape is going to stop these crazy people
lol
i have seen NO people with middel eastern sounding names commenting on this at all.. but they are very active when something happens regarding racism.
double standards
One of the most surveillanced counties in the world. Will come down hard on people even talking hate speech. Nationalist's groups broken up and put on watchlists. But Emad Al Swealmeen, 32 an asylum-seeker. He managed to come all the way from the Middle East which Britain and other European counties have been bombing. He managed to get in and make a bomb. And the only thing that stopped this horrific event was David Perry who he himself was almost killed by Emad. All fact as my personal opinion of this is not allowed will remain censored.
Brussels Broadcasting Company spin ?

11 False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.
12 They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.
13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.
14 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.
15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:
16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
17 Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.
18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.
19 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.
20 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.
