Did a multi-billion dollar arms deal buy India's silence? | DW News



Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has avoided condemning Russia for its invasion of Ukraine. This week, his country again abstained in a UN resolution deploring Russia’s actions. And here’s the likely motive: In December Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an arms deal worth billions. Russia will deliver its S-400 advanced missile-defense system. India wants to protect itself against attacks from China and Pakistan.

  1. Because US always refuse to give high tech weapon to india.. When we are getting it from anywhere they feels.. US sanctions Russian oil but they didn't care about the poor country what will happened to their economy where they will get oil, US is already developed country..
    They are making joke of Venezuela and Iran first day placed sanctioned on them now they are lifting the ban so whatever they want to do they can do

  2. Even European Countries denied boycotting Russian supply of Natural Gas as they are dependent on Energy requirement on Russia…

  3. India is not a puppet of West and NATO which will blindly follow without any sense. We have our own interests and we will keep our interests on top. West have problems with Russia India won't so West should deal with it. Every time West and US will look towards us our stance will be same and it won't change.
