Northeast India and neighboring Bangladesh have been hit by heavier than usual monsoon rains, causing widespread flooding. At least nine people have been killed and 2 million left homeless in the Indian state of Assam. Experts say floods following seasonal rains are increasing due to climate change.

Why do people have to reach out to any disaster in the country? People do not pay VAT? Don't pay taxes? Where does the people's money go? Where is the drainage system? Where is the elevated road? Where's the barrier? Where's the plan? Where are all these maintenance people? What is disaster preparedness? Where is the next disaster? Why are the cyclone centers in remote areas in dilapidated condition? Where is the accountability of the government? What is the work of the Ministry of Disaster and Relief? Why is Bangladesh sinking?
Europe should help India not fund war for Ukraine. Shameful
Glad I'm living in the UK….thank God….
My father wanted our family to move back to Bangladesh…thank God common sense prevailed…I'm never going back… period

I guess the good news is now we don't have to send humanitarian help since india is making good profit from their cheap oil
The monsoons come every year. Is it possible to build water catch systems by the farms for when it is dry to irrigate the farms and shelters on higher ground so that at the start of the rains the people would have a high and dry place to go when the rains start.
Bangladish and India need to work with China to build a dam upstream the Brahmaputra river.
It is unprecedented here in Assam. My hometown is near the mountains and the rains are unprecedented we are more prone to flash flooding when the monsoon lashes the lower Himalayas in Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh…I live just 20 km away from the mountains. The areas low lying areas near Brahmaputra are completely under water. I have never seen such rain in my lifetime.
72 people had died in Assam, in India when this news report was made, stating 9people as dead. the difference in the count is appalling @DwNews!! Today that number is 100.
Almost every country is flooding , why is Russia not flooding ?
For the first time in history, all of humanity is facing a common external enemy. This enemy is the climate. In the face of planetary danger, it is necessary to unite all people for the future of humanity.
People are already ready to act, and as an example of this – International online forum "Global Crisis. We are People. We Want to Live".
Look it up on YouTube, it not only identifies problems but also suggests a way out!
This is what I can western hypocrisy no where millions of people have become homeless some villages and towns have been affected yes but not in the scale u claim !!
Everytime you say climate change you could be saying the name of a company and its board members/CEOs that have been polluting more and making record profits for decades. Human pollution and waste are a small fraction of what the industries are doing, what governments allow, and what media enables.
Good reminder for India to ween itself off coal.
Meanwhile WION is screaming that China is going to collapse.
Praying for Bangladesh and India's people and animals, Priminster shiekh Hasina from Bangladesh and Modi from India are both useless, selfish for thier own needs, hope people realise this fast.
Glory to almighty God the judgment of the wicked
India needs to modernize fast and move people to higher elevated areas and built large storm drains in Metropolitan Areas in a way to reduce flooding.
Ask United kingdom or United nations
Great but both need to invite sweden, shri Lanka, Myanmar, HAWAII, TONGA, BARBADOS, BAHAMAS, SOUTH KOREA, NEPAL, GENEVA, MONACO, SWITZERLAND, SWEDEN, AUSTRAKIA, FINLAND
Because evil China builds dams along the rivers near the India-Bangladesh border, expect that thing to happen. Daddy Xi release the water from dams.

nothing to do with climate change – north and south poles are shifting
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
