Mohamed Salah signs new three-year Liverpool contract

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has penned a new three-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2025. The forward’s previous contract was due to expire in 2023. He enjoyed a phenomenal season in 2021/22, grabbing 31 goals and 16 assists in 51 appearances.
He will earn ‘in excess of £350,000 a week’ and this ‘makes him the highest paid player in Liverpool’s history’. Speaking on his contract extension, Salah has insisted that it is a “happy day for everyone”: “I feel great and [I am] excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone,” Salah told the club’s official website. “It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next. “I think you can see in the last five or six years the team was always going [upwards]. Last season we were close to winning four, but unfortunately in the last week of the season we lost two trophies.
